At EnteBella Medical, we love serving the residents of Mesa and all of Maricopa County. We offer many different treatments to the community, including aesthetic procedures, stem cell replacement therapy, hormone therapy, varicose vein treatment, and platelet-rich plasma therapy. Platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) is used to help revitalize the skin as well as enhance the body’s own healing process.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)?

PRP therapy uses your own blood to help encourage natural growth factors within your body to regenerate tissue. This is commonly used during anti-aging therapies and muscular, joint, or other injuries with long recovery times. PRP starts with a machine called a centrifuge. It is used to separate the plasma from the blood. This machine spins at a very fast rate that separates the plasma and platelets from your blood.

Problem areas are located, and the PRP is injected into those areas. The separated platelets are then injected into your skin and are commonly injected into joints, tendons, ligaments, or muscles. Some patients report feeling some soreness at the injection site for a few days. Patients who have experienced an injection into their joint, ligament, or tendon may have a more extended period of soreness and even some swelling. This therapy helps to encourage your body’s own natural abilities to heal, so it may take a few months to start to see results.

How EnteBella Can Help You

PRP is a safe and non-invasive therapy used as an alternative to surgery. Many people can avoid going to such drastic measures to resolve their injuries and enhance their bodies’ healing response. By using only state-of-the-art technology, this procedure requires little to no downtime and the rejection rate is minimal since the plasma and platelets come from your own blood.

FAQ Section

What Are The Pros and Cons of PRP Therapy?

There are pros and cons to any treatment. The pros are that this therapy is non-invasive, long-lasting, has little to no bruising, and recovery time is minimal. These treatments also help many people avoid surgery and also have low rates of rejection. The cons of PRP are that some people experience mild soreness and redness at the injection site, soreness in joints, ligaments, and tendons when injected. It requires people to follow aftercare instructions for maximum results, and it can sometimes take a while to see results.

What should I avoid after PRP?

After your PRP treatment, it’s a good idea to avoid putting ice or heat on the injection site for the first three days post-procedure. Avoid taking hot baths or going into a sauna as well. It is not recommended to drink alcohol during this post-treatment time either.
